Board Members

The GPCA Board consists of five (5) unpaid volunteers, elected by the Community, each serving a 2-year term.

Civic Association meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room of the Grandwood Park Park District Community Center on Hutchins Road.

These meetings are open to all residents of the community and attendance is encouraged! Your suggestions, ideas and comments are welcomed by the Board at these meetings.



     Meghan Dawson, President
     Current Term: 2018-2020

Meghan moved to Grandwood Park in 2010 with  her husband, Chuck.  They have since had two daughters Sofia and Sydney.  Meghan is currently a PAC Board Member for the Grandwood Park “Little Learner’s” Preschool and has enjoyed volunteering for the GPCA and GPPD.

Meghan looks forward to working with all the board members and volunteers. 

     Tyler Smith,
Vice President
     Current Term:  2018-2019

Tyler was born and raised in Grandwood Park since 1994. After leaving for college where he got a Bachelors in marketing  from St. Ambrose University, he returned in 2016. He is a staffing manager for Robert Half OfficeTeam located in Gurnee, and in addition he coaches volleyball at Vortex out of Northbrook.  Outside of work he enjoys family time, playing with his dogs, and volunteering. He is very excited to give back to his community that has given him so much throughout his life.


Summer Gerber, Treasurer
Current Term:  2017-2019

Summer moved to Grandwood Park with her family in 2015.  She first rented a house, but fell in love with the community and decided to buy a home around the corner in 2016.  Summer has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and is building a career as a real estate broker.  Summer has 2 children, Milani (13 years old) and Alex (10 years old.)  In her free time, she enjoys baking, camping with her family, gardening and volunteering at community events.  She is excited for the opportunity to be a board member and looks forward to being a part of a team that makes Grandwood Park great!


      Amanda Stautz, Secretary
      Current Term: 2018-2020

Amanda was born and raised in grandwood park since 1999. She graduated from Warren Township High School in 2017 and is now attending College of Lake County, she is studying psychology and Emergency Medical Services. In her spare time, she likes to hang out with her friends and family, compete in powerlifting competitions, volunteer, and go fishing. Amanda is so excited to meet many new faces and make new connections throughout the community. 

     Charles A. Dawson III, Sargeant-At-Arms
     Current Term: 2017-2019

Also known as Chuck, Charlie, and even ChuckCharlie to a few long-time residents, he first moved here in 1981 as a baby, but left around a year later. The Dawson family returned in 1988 with another baby, his sister, where they still reside. During this time he was able to grow up in the same neighborhood as his dad did, making lifelong friends and many memories.

Eventually Chuck left for college and a career. In 2010, he returned with his wife, Meghan, to start a family of his own. One dog, two daughters, and six years later, he's now ready to officially work with his fellow neighbors, the Park District, and Civic Association.

Outside of work and time with family and friends, he enjoys riding his bike, paddling a kayak, playing golf, or shooting pool. If you see him out, stop him to say Hello!
