Scholarships
2012 Scholarship Information
This year's Scholarship Committee feels strongly that any member of Grandwood Park that has a passing GPA and a history of service to the community should be encouraged to apply for this scholarship. Applicants will be judged on a balance of personal and academic achievement, as well as involvement in Grandwood Park events and activities.
This year, up to two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.
Judging Criteria*
- Original essay describing the applicant's career hopes and aspirations - minimum of 250 words
- Community involvement and service - over the past three (3) years
- Personal character references - two (2) must be provided
- Attention to detail - providing a completed application packet received on time - Post marked no later than May 18, 2012
- Grade Point Average will be important, but not the ultimate deciding factor
- Outcomes of their personal interview with the Scholarship Committee
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a state accredited college, university, or technical/trade school
The application package consists of:
- A cover letter explaining the process and deadlines
- The application form for 2012
- The affidavit of eligibility
- The Grandwood Park Civic Association enrollment form
