Welcome to Body~Mind~Soul Yoga
with Danni Mares
Danni began her spiritual journey in 2005 when she entered a yoga studio in Chicago in search of another way to move her body. She did not expect to discover her purpose. Through her yoga practice, she adapted a deep appreciation for her breath, a compassionate connection with her body, methods of stilling her mind, and dwelling in the peace within her heart. She felt as though she was reunited with a long lost friend – herself.
Feeling compelled to share with others the powerful effects of yoga on the body, mind, and soul is what led Danni to the seat of the teacher. Danni traveled to India in September 2012 to gain her 200-hour certification from Rishikesh Yog Peeth. For Danni, the practice of yoga is not about touching the hands to the toes, but rather integrating the body, breath, and mind all into one. It is this integration that has led to the unwavering belief that the practice of yoga, regardless of “flex-ability” has the potential to change one’s life, if the practitioner is open to receiving. While the lessons of yoga can be serious, it is with a lightheartedness that Danni encourages her students to explore their potential, relax with what “is” and not to take things too seriously and they, too, will discover their path.
Classes will be held at the GRANDWOOD PARK PARK DISTRICT COMMUNITY CENTER located at 36630 N. Hutchins Road in Gurnee.
** Due to the Covid-19 crisis, we want you to know that we will conduct health checks before each class by checking your temperature and asking if you have any symptoms of Covid-19. If you do have symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19, we ask that you do not attend class for a minimum of 14 days.
In addition, we ask that you bring your own equipment with you to class (mats, straps, blocks, bolsters/pillows, etc.). We do have some mats available that you can borrow, but we ask that you take it home with you after each class until we are allowing storage of items here at the community center. If you have taken classes here in the past and have some of your own equipment here, please let us know and we will make sure you get it at your first class.
The Park District considers the health and well-being of our staff and guests of utmost importance, and assures you that we are taking every precaution possible to reduce the risk of spreading the virus, and are strictly following guidelines set by officials and the IDPH during each phase of the Governor's plan. We will be disinfecting the floors, counters, sinks, water fountains, bathrooms, door handles, etc. completely and thoroughly every day, and before and after class. We will enforce social distancing during class (luckily we have a large enough space for this), and we will make hand sanitizer and masks available during every class.
If you have any questions regarding our precautions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
