General Program Information

How to Register

Online registration is the quickest and most convenient way to register. You may also register in person at our office during our normal business hours. Telephone or faxed registrations are not accepted.

General Information

In order to secure instructors and supplies, programs may require a minimum number of participants 7 days before the class is to begin. A maximum number is also listed to ensure quality instruction. The Grandwood Park Park District reserves the right to adjust Min/Max’s on programs/events when deemed necessary. Classes may be combined and times modified to facilitate better programs.

Resident rates apply to those who live within Park District boundaries (sub-divisions of Grandwood Park in Gurnee, The Shires in Lake Villa, and those living in the Grand Oaks Apartment Complex). If a program is held at a school and you reside in that district, then you pay the resident rates for that program.

General program fee refunds, less a service charge of 20% (not to exceed $10), will be made if cancellation is received at least seven days before the start of the program. After that time, refunds can only be given for medical reasons. NOTE: Refunds cannot be given for programs or trips that require advance admission or entrance fees. If Grandwood Park Park District needs to reschedule or cancel programs due to insufficient registration, full refunds will be provided.

You will be notified if, for any reason, we are unable to complete your registration or the program is cancelled or changed. We do not send reminders.

Photos and video footage are periodically taken of people participating in a Park District program or activity, attending a class or event, or using District facilities or property. Please be aware that by registering for a program or class, participating in an activity, attending and event, or using District facilities or property, you authorize the District to use these photos and video footage for promotional purposes in District publications, advertising, marketing materials, brochures, event flyers, social media (including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media sites operated by the District), and the District’s website without additional prior notice or permission and without any compensation to you. All photos and videos are property of the district.

The Grandwood Park Park District intends to comply with the intent and spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability. If you need any special accommodations, please call the Grandwood Park Park District so we can make the necessary arrangements with the Warren Special Rec Association.

Any check that is deposited and returned by the bank for any reason will result in an additional charge of $20.

The Grandwood Park Park District has established certain rules necessary to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment. Proper behavior is expected from each participant at all times. This includes showing respect to all other participants, staff, equipment, supplies and facilities, refraining from use of foul language, causing no bodily harm, making no threats of violence and committing no acts of violence. Additional policies may be developed for specific programs if necessary.
